With a large Shubunkin, debris builds up quickly in the gravel, and it used to be a nightmare trying to stay on top of it without turning the tank into a murky mess. As a gravel cleaner this is not effective at all. Better to stick with a hand held you can move around the tank. However if you just want to do a water change this actually works very well but only if the pipe inside the fish tank is vertical in position. It sucks the water well after only 2 pumps. However I found with both pipe sections connected it did not keep the suction going and had to be restarted constantly.

Ok so I had this awhile and thought it's time to use it as its going to make cleaning my big tank easier....well all I can say is it does stuck up the water and that's all!!the glass cleaner doesn't work The water pipe came away from the clip on the bucket so the pipe ended up on the floor soaking my carpet 😡 my partner was laughing at me teasing me about buying these gadgets even played the song😆 just dont buy it... spend abit more money on a better one

I love this gravel cleaner. It comes with 2 pipes to if you have a large aquarium like mine they connect together so I can get to the gravel at the bottom of the tank without my hands getting wet. Also it only takes a couple of pumps on the trigger to get the water flowing. It does come with a scraper and a fish net. I have not used the scraper but the fish net is not the greatest as it is small and just made of plastic. This was not a problem for me as i alresdy had one and you can use it if you are in a pinch.

The media could not be loaded. Siphon itself works great. It primed in just a few squeezes. The gravel tubes are a little too long for my 10 gallon tank, but there are two of them so I may cut one. The included thermometer doesn't work at all and the fish net is cheap, but functional.

I love love love that the drainage tubing is super flexible, so I know it’s not going to accidentally turn or move and suddenly there is water all over my floor. The intake tubes are very long, so you can get down to the bottom of a tall tank no problem. It might be a bit slow at draining water, but not any slower than most manual siphons. I have only used it to do water changes, so I’ll update this review once I’ve gotten around to using it to clean up the bottom of my tanks.
